Looking for ideas for an epic bachelorette party in Newport, RI with your best gal pals? As a recent bride and a Newport resident, I have firsthand experience researching all the options - and checking them out in person. See my recommendations for the best things to do for an amazing bachelorette weekend from my eight years living in Newport, RI. Consider this your free Newport Bachelorette Party Guide š„āļø
1. Boat Charter āļø
My friends chartered luxury yacht, Heron, for a three hour sunset sail for my bachelorette (along with a few other fun things)! Captain, crew & first (puppy) mate were all fantastic - and the catamaran yacht is gorgeous! We loved our sunset sail - five stars āļø
Iāve had multiple amazing experiences chartering a boat for a sunset boat ride in Newport Harbor through Americaās Cup Charters. We opted for a powerboat but they have sailboats as well pending preference. Another five star rating here āļø
If you and your tribe are experienced sailors, why not rent sailboats from Sail Newport and enjoy a cruise on Narragansett Bay?! I had the best experience taking sailing lessons here - five stars! āļø
2. Lunch or Sunset Picnic š§ŗ
Enjoy a sunset picnic with a view of Newport Harbor or the ocean!
This was something I really wanted to do with/for my bridesmaids but it ended up being too hard to coordinate given distance/logistics as they all lived in different states.
Picnic location ideas in Newport: Fort Adams, Kings Park, Brenton Point, Third Beach, Gooseberry Beachā¦ so many great spots to choose from!
Want to work with a local team to help you create a magical sunset? Here are two options that come highly recommended:
3. Rooftop Bars, Firepit Fun & Dancing šš»š„
Check out some special locals for rooftop cocktails, firepit fun and some dancing!
Rooftops bars: Vanderbilt hotel (my fav), Brenton hotel & Viking Hotel
Firepits: Newport Harbor Island Hotel
Dancing:
The Clarke Cook House: During "peak season", the fine dinning floor called Sky Bar turns into a dance floor after dinner service is complete
The Pelham - a more casual option, can be a bit cheesy IMHO (šš§)
4. Local Vineyards & Wineriesš·
Visit a local vineyard!
These two are super cute and super fun to do - especially on a nice day
5. Newport Polo š
Go to a polo match and enjoy a picnic!
I go a few times a season as itās a fun activity to do with friends
6. Pool/Cabana Day bikini š āļø
Get a cabana for the day at Newport Harbor Island Hotel and enjoy ocean views along while being poolside
Enjoy food & drink from the poolside restaurant/bar called the Pineapple Club. Five stars for a casual meal, snacks and/or mudslides āļø
I did this one with small group of friends when it was Gurney's Newport. We had a ball
7. Other Ideas
Beach day at Gooseberry beach or another beach in the area
Private tennis clinic/instruction at Tennis Hall of Fame
Walk the 2.4 mile trail at Sachueset to see stunning views of the ocean and surrounding nature - a total gem!
Yoga on the beach or park by the water
If you're here on a Thursday evening in the summer, plan a picnic for an outdoors NewportFILM event
Pub crawl (with so many drinking locales in close proximity, a pub crawl is E Z)
Rent kayaks or paddle boards
Take a surf lesson
